Crystal Palace got their first away win of the season in great style against Leicester City, winning 3-0 with Christian Benteke getting his first goal of the season.
Since Roy Hodgson has taken over at Crystal Palace they have been winning matches and are finally out of the relegation zone, after 8 games into the season Crystal Palace looked certainties to be relegated but now there are three other teams that look like they will be going down.
The biggest match of the weekend took place at tea time on Saturday evening between Manchester City and Tottenham. Everyone was waiting to see if Spurs could be the team to ended Man City’s winning streak, but instead they were torn apart in a 4-1 win for Man City. Spurs had no answer to Man City and were lucky to get in at half time only 1-0 down, when they came out in the second half Man City just went up another gear and that was game over.
The biggest winning margin this weekend was Liverpool’s 4-0 win away to Bournemouth, Mo Salah was on brilliant form again as he scored two goals to be the first person since Ian Rush to score 20 goals for Liverpool before Christmas.
The rest of the results from the weekend saw Everton beat Swansea 3-1 to keep up their amazing climb out of the relegation zone under Sam Allardyce, Manchester United beat West Brom 2-1 away from home with Lukaku scoring again, West Ham got an incredible 3-0 win away to Stoke and Huddersfield kept up their strange form by beating Watford away 4-1. Chelsea got a good 1-0 win against Southampton, Arsenal got a 1-0 against Newcastle United to keep up their push for the Champions League places and Brighton and Burnley could only play out a 0-0 draw. We are coming up to Christmas now so there will be even more games next week, so it’s going to be a very busy football watching time.
