Is The League Already Won?

On Wednesday night Chelsea recovered from a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace by beating Manchester City 2-1 at home.

This victory not only made sure that Chelsea didn’t drop any more points to their title rivals, but it also show cased how even after a surprising defeat Chelsea can bounce straight back with a win against a tough opponent.

After losing to Crystal Palace at the weekend, many pundits believed that Chelsea might be starting to wobble and that their closest rivals Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City could end up back in the title race.

Had Chelsea lost against Man City not only would they have allowed Tottenham back into the race but Man City would have felt they could still win the title. In the end though things worked out really well for Chelsea, as they beat Man City to make sure they were seven points clear of Tottenham. While Liverpool drew 2-2 with Bournemouth meaning that Liverpool are now twelve points behind Chelsea, while Man City are fourteen points behind.

With only eight games to go Chelsea still look incredibility strong and would have to lose at least two games for anyone to get close to them, so at the moment it is Chelsea’s title to lose.
