Lincoln Make History

Lincoln City became the first Non League club to reach the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup in 103 years.

Their reward for doing that will be a trip to Arsenal who themselves faced Non League side Sutton United in the fifth round and beat them 2-0.

It was Burnley’s first defeat at Turf Moor since November, having made Turf Moor a fortress this season it was a huge shock for Burnley to lose at home. It is a massive result for Lincoln City who are currently top of the National League and could become a League side next season. They have proven themselves well and have been reward with a massive game at the Emirates against Arsenal.

Arsenal who have just beaten another Non League side in the form of Sutton United, after a terrible week for Arsenal a game against a Non League side look like it could go two ways. Either Arsenal won easily or Sutton United embarrassed them further and beat a top four Premier League side. Arsenal ended up winning 2-0 but will now have to face another Non League side in Lincoln City, though this time it is at home.

The other games from the FA Cup saw Chelsea, Manchester United and Middlesbrough winning, with Huddersfield drawing with Manchester City who will have replay to decide who goes into the quarter final.

The quarter final draw was as follows:
