The Klopp Effect

From looking like a favourite to when the Premier League title before Christmas, Liverpool have fallen away drastically in January and now find themselves 13 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Liverpool have even fallen out of the Champions League places and are now only 1 point ahead of Manchester United in sixth place. Not only have Liverpool struggled in the league they also went out of two cup competitions losing the League Cup Semi Final to Southampton and losing a 4th round FA Cup game to Wolves at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has done a fantastic job at Liverpool and you can see how his enthusiasm has lifted some of those players to play out of their skin, such as Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Though in Liverpool’s last two Premier League games they have lost to the bottom club twice, losing 3-2 to Swansea at Anfield when they were bottom and then losing 2-0 away to Hull City when they were bottom.

There is no way that Liverpool would sack Jurgen Klopp he is too good a manager and the fans love him already, but if Liverpool keep on falling and don’t qualify for Europe again this season what will happen. Will Klopp get money to improve the squad in the summer or will Liverpool lose key players such as Coutinho, Firmino and Mane.
