Manchester United vs Liverpool

It is one of the biggest football games, watched globally by approximately 700 million people, and for fans of both teams it means everything to them to get a win over their fiercest rivals. So it was quite surprising to fans of  Manchester United and Liverpool when they seen the first half of football, as it was one of the most boring halves of football you will probably ever likely see. Nothing of note really happened and the only talking point up to half time was that Manchester United had their goalkeeper David De Gea back in goal after his transfer to Real Madrid fell through and he signed a new 4 year contract with United.

The second half saw a big change as United took the lead through a brilliantly worked free kick that found Daley Blind in space and he curled the ball into the top corner of the net, United then doubled their lead through an Ander Herrera penalty. Then all of a sudden the game was really brought to life by two amazing goals, the first of which was an overhead kick by Christian Benteke to make the game 2-1 and look to give Liverpool a chance to get a draw or more in the game.

But any chance of a Liverpool comeback was put to bed when Anthony Martial the £36 million man scored a brilliant solo goal on his debut to give United a 3-1 win.

The win means that United are up to third in the table and that Louis Van Gaal has a 100% record against Liverpool’s Manager Brendan Rodgers.
